In order to further strengthen the exchange and cooperation between Guangdong Imported Food Association and foreign institutions in China, on May 15, Guangdong Imported Food Association President Qi Yilong was invited to visit the Consulate General of the Republic of Portugal in Guangzhou for exchange.

President Qi and the Portuguese side exchanged views on co-operation in organizing online business matchmaking meeting and promoting contacts between Portuguese and Chinese companies. The two sides have discussed matters concerning arrangement of an online Portuguese food promotion conference in mid-June and reached an initial agreement to enable Chinese and Portuguese companies to realize more efficient procurement and trade. At the same time, both sides hope to further strengthen in-depth cooperation in the field of food through FOOD2CHINA platform, so as to promote economic and trade development between China and Portugal.

This visit has further deepened friendship and mutual assistance between the two sides. The two sides will continue to strengthen cooperation in the future to optimize food export channels for Portuguese companies and make joint efforts to bring more high-quality Portuguese food to Chinese consumers.
